In this tutorial you will learn how to create really cool effect that can be used as an object or a background. So let’s get started!



Final image

Step 1: Create a new ducument 500 x 500 px and fill it with black.

Step 2: Using the Elliptical Marquee Tool, make a perfectly circular selection (press shift while selecting) in the middle of the layer. Go to Filter/Render/Clouds. After that press Ctrl+D, and you will get something like this:

Step 3: Now go to Filter/Stylize/Extrude and set your settings like on the folowing picture:

After that go to Image/Adjustements/Hue/Saturation and use settings like on the next picture (you can play around with the settings to get diferent results):

Step 4: Final step, duplicate the layer with the ball. Change the Blending Mode (right click on new layer, and press blending options, when new window pop up in the top you will see blending mode) of the new layer to Hard light. You will get something like this:
